Trisickle News: The Scottish Music Awards
Exciting times lie ahead for Trisickle with news of an official nomination for the 2011 Scottish Music Industry Awards. Despite its ‘newbie’ status to the print scene, the urban magazine has impressively scooped a nomination in the Print Publication of the Year category alongside the likes of The Skinny and The List.
The Awards themselves, which pay homage to the thriving local music industry in all its glory are set to take place on September 4th this year at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow.
News of the announcement caused quite a stir for the Trisickle team earlier this month when it was revealed they had been nominated for the coveted award. A spokesperson for the magazine said:
“2011 has so far proved to be a fantastic year for us, the publication is going from strength to strength and we’ve got some great things in the pipeline. Our first big bash last month (the ‘We Our Glasgow’ CD launch) really set the precedence for more events to come and with news of the nomination, things are really taking off. Our ethos has always been to promote local talent so we’re honoured to be recognised for our contribution to the Scottish music industry. Infact, you could say that the nomination came as ‘music to our ears’!”
The star studded event promises to be one to remember with upcoming, unsigned acts taking centre stage, an array of celebrity guests and memorable performances.
