Review: Union Starr – I Know About Art
Sixties style, happy rock combined with psychedelic that still earns a spot on the radio. That’s the best way to describe this, the new release from Union Starr. Fuzzy guitars; thick, ethereal vocals; phasers and stamp on the floor drums. It all combines beautifully in a pop landscape.
What could’ve resulted in a sickly, sugary substance that’s sticky and horrid has avoided that epidemic that affects bubble gum pop and come good. Union Starr have artfully straddled the line between mainstream and authentic and have managed to come out the other side –their music liked, their melodies accessible and most importantly, their integrity intact.
